Judicial Branch Joins the Twitterverse

Follow @IowaCourts

The Iowa Judicial Branch is now on Twitter. You can follow the account by searching @IowaCourts or by taking the Follow us on Twitter - @IowaCourts link from the Iowa Judicial Branch homepage.

Iowa joins the following states in using Twitter to share information with the public: Arizona, Hawaii, Michigan, Ohio, California, Illinois, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Florida, Indiana, New Jersey, Kentucky, Utah, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

The Iowa Judicial Branch Twitter account will complement the news and information provided on the judicial branch website in the same way the Judicial Branch Email Notification Service works.  The Twitter account is one more way to share this news and information, as well as draw attention to the available information and resources on the website.  The primary goal of the account is to bring a larger audience to the judicial branch website.

The communications department will use the Twitter account to notify its followers when the judicial branch releases Iowa Supreme Court opinions and orders, Iowa Court of Appeals opinions, news releases and announcements. Each Tweet will include a link to the opinions, orders, and news releases and announcements in their entirety.

The Iowa Judicial Branch communications department will maintain the @IowaCourts Twitter account.  Only members of the communications department are authorized to tweet or post information to the account.

IowaCourts will not follow any other Twitter users or accounts, and it will not reply to any tweets.  IowaCourts will not re-tweet posts from other users or accounts.

Please help the Iowa Judicial Branch grow the IowaCourts Twitter account by following us online.
